Krooked is a skateboarding company founded by skating legend Mark ‘Gonz’ Gonzales in 2002. Gonzales, who was named number one in Transworld SKATEboarding’s 2011 list of the 30 most influential skaters of all time, remains the brand’s creative director, responsible for most of its graphics, art, promotional material and advertisements.Krooked is part of the San Francisco-based Deluxe Distribution family, along with Spitfire, Real Skateboards, Anti Hero Skateboards, Thunder and Venture. Before launching Krooked, Gonzales had previously ridden for Real. The Krooked team currently features Gonzales along with pros Bobby Worrest, Dan Drehobl, Mike Anderson and Brad Cromer, plus ams David Clark and Luke Croker. Ronnie Sandoval was welcomed to the squad in December 2013. The latest Krooked collection includes the Korsair and Kollage Pro Series with models by all five Krooked pros, plus Cromer’s signature ‘Cromersaurus’ range, and the Kartridge, Krayons, Banderole, Linerz and Arketype team decks. Zinger completes (gripped and ready to rip with Crusherz wheels and Spitfire bearings), T-shirts, hoodies and stickers also feature. Since its birth, Krooked has released a number of videos, including four full-length films. It has adopted the unusual practice of using a variety of formats for its full-length productions – 2006’s Krooked Kronichles (featuring the talents of Van Wastell, who died in 2008) and Naughty in 2008 were filmed entirely with digital cameras, Gnar Gnar (2007) was limited to 1000 copies and was released only on VHS, while the Krook3d video in 2010 was the first ever 3D skate video.
